Our Story

We are a group of concerned citizens that self-organize around events and projects that strengthen our bonds and community with one another while standing up peacefully and non-violently to the destructive, corrupt, and undemocratic ways of this administration and its supporters in Congress.

Indivisible Mohawk Valley (IMV) members were inspired to go from voters to activists after the November election, the Women's March, and subsequent events locally and nationally.

IMV follows the three principles set forth in the Indivisible Guide, which means we respond defensively to the actions and words of 45 and our members of Congress.  We are also a civic engagement and political action oriented group.  If you would like to learn more about resisting the Trump agenda, you are welcome to join us.

We have subcommittees on various topics so interested members can blend education and activism. IMV participates in Knit the District, a coalition of grassroots resistance groups in NY 22 focusing on unseating Claudia Tenney in 2018, and has close relationships with other groups across the state.

If this intrigues you, please do not be shy about reaching out to us.  Join the Resistance!  Everyone has something that they bring to our grassroots energy.  What are you passionate about?  What are you good at?  What are you not-so-good at?  Everyone is on their own activism journey, so whether you are just looking to be more aware of what is happening around you, are ready to put your body in motion like writing letters or attending events, or are interested in leading a project, tell us so we can find the best way to maximize your gifts.

Democracy is not a spectator sport please join us in the Resistance!
Note:   Two of our members, Sarah Reeske and Jen DeWeerth have recently combined their GO! and Resistance emails into one single weekly update.  This email newsletter contains information pertaining to grassroots organizing activities, progressive activism and resistance.  If you would like to receive the IMV email newsletter please complete the form on the "Contact Us" page.
