*Saturday, Nov. 17th @ 5:30 pm-11 pm, MVLA’s 15th Annual Hispanic Heritage Gala, at the Yahnundasis, 8639 Seneca Tnpk, New Hartford.  Honorees include RoAnn Desito and Tony & Maribel Colon. All monies from the fundraiser will benefit Puerto Rican evacuees, providing translation service for non native speakers, college scholarships for high school students, rent vouchers and other worthy efforts. If you can’t attend please consider sponsoring an young person by paying for a ticket.

*Wednesday, Nov. 28th @ 11:30 am, New Hope, New York State Budget Press Conference in Albany.  If you want to support progressive state budget priorities, join a large coalition of organizations pressing for action in 2019.  Email Peter Cook, [email protected], for more information.

*Tuesday, Dec. 11th @ 4:30-6:30 pm, Fourth Annual Peace Carol, 1608 Genesee Street, Oneida County History Center.  The Unitarian Universalist Church of Utica (UU Utica) presents the 4th Annual Peace Carol, an evening honoring the Christmas Truce of World War One. This celebration features carols sung by members of UU Utica and the Proctor Choirs, the Procter Jr. ROTC Color Guard, a dramatic reading of Aaron Shepard’s "The Christmas Truce" performed by the RSVP Readers Theater, light refreshments, and more. Individuals of all faiths and cultures are invited to attend. This event is free and open to the public.

*Saturday, Jan. 19th  Utica Women’s March! Save the date.  We had a great crowd last year as we marched from the YWCA to City Hall.  The third annual march will be even bigger, as we celebrate the power of women to change our community and create the world we want to see.
